New Zealand (or ‘Aotearoa’ – as named by the original Maori settlers for “Land of the long white cloud”), is a land of hidden treasures and vast, unspoilt beauty. At 269,000 square kilometres in area, New Zealand is a comparatively small country made up of 2 main Islands. The North and South and Islands. Similar in area to Great Britain and Japan, It is located 2,000 kms East of Australia, in the South Western Pacific. With a population of only four million people it’s also gloriously uncrowded. New Zealand has virtually all of Natures attractions in one small package with everything from warm, sun‐drenched beaches to cold snow capped mountains and glaciers.

You get a British based education (due to their British influences) for a percentage of the cost. The degrees are recognized around the world as being up to date and practical. You will get the high quality, hands on education that you deserve. The New Zealand Education Authorities are responsible for checking each and every course, program, and certificate for quality so that they can be recognized around the world as high quality education. Not only that, but the Government regulated support services for international students are among the best in the world. They have a lot of expertise and experience in helping international students so that they can succeed in their programs. The tuition fees are some of the lowest in the world.

For international students, course fees are only payable after the visa approval and fees are fully protected by Government regulation in the event of any financial problems at the chosen public or private education provider

There are plenty of work opportunities available for international students. On a student visa, you are allowed to work up to 20 hours a week through the semester; during vacations you can work up to 40 hours. So, instead of having to worry about finances, you get to supplement your education with income. You may even be able to gain paid internships and other practical work during the course and NZSW can advise the details to you. The international studies office at your university can help you find a job to sustain you during your time in New Zealand and NZSW also offers this service. Another great thing is that you can get a 12 month work permit (in some cases for a longer period) at the end of your program to find a job and gain work experience.

The visa acquisition process is incredibly simple, and unlike many other countries, you will not normally be rejected right away. The country is welcome to immigration, more so than almost any other country in the world. The last advantage is that, after you graduate, you can work in the country for up to 3 years. If the job you are working at is related to the qualification that you received, you will usually be eligible for Permanent Residency, which you will most likely get within 6 months of your application.

Courses are available for 12 th Standard, Graduation and Masters level students, with or without work experience.

With over 700 courses on offer New Zealand Study & Work makes sure that it places you in the most appropriate course to not only match your future career aspirations but also the job market in New Zealand.

Potential students can choose from both Government and Private providers at University, Polytechnic or College level. In addition younger students can be placed at High School or University Foundation Programs.

NZSW will also ensure that the course selection is appropriate to the background of the student. It is unfortunate that poor course selection is a major reason for a visa rejection, when with proper advice this can be avoided.

NZSW will also advise the student which courses provide a stay back option and which courses do not. Sometimes a combination course selection is required in order to get a stay back visa at the completion of study.

JOB SEARCH ASSISTANCE

QTEC Learning (UK) Limited

QTEC LEARNING (UK) Limited is a UK Awarding Body and another sister company of New Zealand Study & Work.

QTEC has developed programs that are most suitable for international students. Particular emphasis is placed on providing training in Cross‐Cultural and Employability Skills.

On completion of training, students are provided a Job Search Booklet so they have a valuable guide when they reach their destination.

In most cases international students lack work experience, so that the cost effective training will enable students to settle down quickly in another country and to find that part time job much faster than other students.
